Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in Doha - The Best Eateries on Offer
One thing we love about Qatar's busy metropolis Doha is that we can find somewhere to eat no matter when we get the munchies. Morning, noon or night, the city that rarely sleeps offers a host of fantastic eateries, with foods of every type and combination, from all over the globe to satisfy every craving and need.
Another thing we love when it comes to eating out is a good recommendation. There's nothing better than getting a good tip for somewhere to eat and for it to become your new favourite, which is why we also love the annual fact. DINING AWARDS Qatar.
The fact. DINING AWARDS
The fact. DINING AWARDS are hosted by FACT Magazine, a cultural lifestyle magazine for the Middle East. The magazine, which offers a monthly low-down on news, events, and happenings across the Middle East, with major features and reviews on local businesses, products and people, hosts the annual awards to celebrate the culinary scenes in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai and Qatar.
FACT, known across the region as the dining authority, searches to find the top eateries, across almost fifty categories, in each nation every year. Two awards are available per category, one for the ‘favourite’ and one for the ‘best’ places to dine. The ‘favourite’ awards are presented based on an online public vote, and the ‘best’ awards are decided via a panel of judges.
So, without further ado, let’s find out which culinary crowns for breakfast, lunch, and dinner have been bestowed in Qatar by FACT in 2023:
2023’s Finest Eateries for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Breakfast
Breakfast is supposedly the most important meal of the day - it’s a shame most of us tend to grab something quick and easy in the morning as we struggle to get to work, school drop off, or elsewhere first thing. However, when we do get time to sit down and eat breakfast properly, it's a real treat to have breakfast made for you and served with a smile. So where should we head for a well-deserved morning meal in Doha? Try the following FACT recommendations:
Twisted Olive - Burj Tower, Al Corniche, Doha (Best Breakfast)
Image: Twisted Olive
If you are looking for an elegant oasis amid the bustling city for breakfast, then The Twisted Olive is a perfect venue. Located on the ground floor of the Burj Doha, an iconic cylindrical-style office block in Doha's West Bay, the cafe's open-air courtyard is a calm and green oasis to start a busy day.
The Twisted Olive's tranquil setting, inspired by nature, and its lush green conservatory garden, will make you forget that you dine in the heart of the city's business district. Indeed, you'll need to keep track of the time; it's very easy to relax into the eatery's vibe and lose hours over their superb breakfasts! Prepare to feast on breakfast delicacies, the old classics, such as freshly baked croissants, breakfast plates and bowls, eggs benedict, french toast and omelettes, decadent choices, such as Turkish clotted cream and honey, and many dishes with inventive flavour twists, such as Banoffee French toast and steak and eggs Benedict. We love the buttermilk fried chicken and French toast with candied Jalapenos.

Pura Vida Qatar - Al Maha Island, Lusail (Favourite Breakfast)
Image: Pura Vida
Pura Vida Qatar is a new eatery on Qatar's latest leisure and entertainment destination, Al Maha Island. Located in the heart of the island's high-end dining district, Pura Vida has an enviable waterfront spot looking across the bay to Lusail Marina and the awesome Katara Towers, which are ablaze in gold, rest and orange in the sunrise. And the view is only improved by the restaurant's ambience and breakfast menu.
Para Vida has a very relaxed vibe, with natural decor and colouring - a white-washed building with beige and cream fabrics adorning wooden chairs and tables inside and out, woven wicker lampshades and plant pots, and wooden decking, with a planted wooden trellis providing shade from the sun - very reminiscent of a Mediterranean taverna. The menu focuses on fresh, simple, healthy and organic plates. It delivers a delightful array of breakfasts, from topped sourdough toasts, breakfast plates, sandwiches and wraps, eggs (boiled, scrambled, sunny side up, poached, baked…), acai bowls, overnight oat and granola bowls, all washed down with a dizzying choice of superfood smoothies and freshly squeezed juices. We love the sourdough toast with charred fruit, whipped ricotta, homemade granola and drizzled honey!

Dinner
It is always nice to have options for dinner; after all, we don't always want to cook at home, and for evenings out or special occasions with friends and family, it's great to have a choice of eateries that suit all tastes, budgets and festivities. Doha has a vast range of restaurants for evening dining; sometimes, it's hard to know which options to choose between. However, the fact. awards helpfully have plenty of recommendations. We love their ‘New In Town’ categories for fine-dining and casual dining for the latest great eats out:
LPM Restaurant - Al Maha Island, Lusail (Best New In Town Fine Dining Eatery)
LPM Restaurant is another new eatery at Qatar's latest leisure and entertainment destination, Al Maha Island. A beautiful location morning, noon or night, LPM's waterfront position looking across to Lusail City and the city's marina is especially spectacular in the evening as the sun sets. The restaurant itself, serving French Mediterranean cuisine, is reminiscent of venues along the Riviera of France's southeastern coast. Inside the diner, the decor is light and neutral, with fine linens and white china, though 20th-century art adorns the walls giving a splash of colour. Outside, shaded terraces with climbing plants, olive trees, and comfy, easy chairs provide the perfect spot to view the cityscape beyond the bay.
The food is typically Mediterranean - fresh sunkissed ingredients prepared to order. The a la carte menu offers an array of dishes, from salads, tapenades, burrata, carpaccio, escargot (snails) to Gnocchi, Arrabiata, Risotto, marinated and grilled fish and meat, and salmon en croute, all served with gratin dauphinoise, pomme frites or haricot verts. And to finish, dishes such as creme brulee, gateaux, sorbets and mousses are designed to leave you feeling thoroughly sated. We love the yellowtail carpaccio with guacamole and citrus dressing, the tiger prawns marinated with green chilli and coriander, and the glorious warm chocolate mousse with malt ice cream.
