The multi-instrumentalist fuses classical piano, electronica and percussive influences to shatter boundaries between musical genres. As an ex-scholar of the Royal College of Music in London, Tokio went on to become a session musician for Kanye West, the late Amy Winehouse, Mr Hudson and The Library, The Police and Sting, performing on international stadium tours.
Since then, Tokio captivated the nation with his appearances on Britain's Got Talent, showcasing his skills as a composer, producer and performance artist. After winning the show, he signed a recording contract with Simon Cowell at Syco Entertainment and was invited to perform on the Royal Variety Show, broadcast to a global audience of over 150 million.
Tokio co-produced the Artists for Grenfell charity single in support of the London Community Foundation, his highly acclaimed debut album released in 2017, titled ‘Our Generation’, was BRIT Certified Gold and reached number 4 in the UK album charts. He is the first pianist/producer to achieve this since the legendary Robert Miles.
Tokio has performed twice with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall and delivered sold-out UK and Ireland tours in 2018 and 2019 at prestigious venues including Printworks, the Shepherds Bush Empire and the O2 Forum. He has also performed sell-out shows at Edinburgh Festival supported by Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
Other successes include international festivals, performing to a sold-out audience at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, appearing on NBC’s America’s Got Talent 2019 as guest artist twice, collaborating with Stuart Copland (drummer from The Police), brand and sync partnerships with Rolls Royce, Formula1, Vodafone, the Prince’s Trust, Sky, ITV and many more.
Tokio also produced the official anthem for the Commonwealth Games 2018, recording and filming with a full symphony orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. He was also invited to perform at Qatar stadium for the pre-tournament showcase in 2020 in front of several members of the Qatari royal family and an audience of more than 40,000.
